August monthly meeting.

There’s something special about spending a morning surrounded by people who share a love of gardens, flowers and the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains. Whether you're an experienced gardener or simply enjoy learning more about plants, we'd love to welcome you to our August General Meeting.

Our meeting begins with our regular General Meeting, followed by our popular mini flower show and a delicious morning tea. The flower show is always a highlight of the day, with members proudly displaying seasonal blooms and foliage from their gardens. It's a wonderful opportunity to admire the diversity of plants growing throughout our region, exchange gardening tips, and catch up with fellow members and visitors.

This month we are delighted to welcome Sarah Childs as our guest speaker. Sarah will present an engaging talk about her beautiful property on Old Forty Bends Road, South Bowenfels, and share her extensive knowledge and passion for growing peonies.

Peonies are among the world's most admired garden flowers, celebrated for their spectacular blooms, wonderful fragrance, and timeless beauty. Sarah will discuss how these remarkable plants can be successfully grown in Australian conditions, covering topics such as selecting the right varieties, planting, ongoing care, and achieving the best flowering results. Whether you've been growing peonies for years or are considering planting your very first one, you're sure to leave inspired.

The Blackheath Garden Club is proud to bring together gardeners of all ages and experience levels. Our monthly meetings offer an opportunity to learn from knowledgeable guest speakers, make new friends, discover new plants, and become part of a welcoming community that shares a passion for gardening.
